Exit and Entry Delay Settings & Customisations

To help prevent false alarms, the SimpliSafe® system comes with its Exit and Entry Delays.

The Exit Delay is the amount of time you have to exit your home or business before the system is armed and your sensors are active. While the Entry Delay is the amount of time you have to disarm your system after a sensor has been triggered. You can make adjustments to your Exit and Entry Delays at any time using the SimpliSafe® Mobile App.

Using the SimpliSafe® Mobile App

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® Mobile App (opens in new tab) on your phone or tablet

  2. Choose My System from the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen

  3. Select Base Station Settings

  4. Choose Exit and Entry Delays

  5. Use the plus and minus buttons to adjust your setting(s) as desired

  6. Once you have adjusted your settings, press Save in the upper right corner of the screen

Exit Delay, Home

The amount of time before the system becomes armed in Home Mode when you press the ‘Home’ button on your Keypad or within the SimpliSafe® Mobile or Web App. The default is 0 seconds, but this can be increased up to 4 minutes 15 seconds.

Exit Delay, Away

The amount of time before the system becomes armed in Away Mode when you press the ‘Away’ button on the Keypad or within the SimpliSafe® Mobile or Web App. The default is 60 seconds and can be adjusted to as low as 45 seconds, or a maximum of 4 minutes 15 seconds. If you open a door with an entry sensor, this countdown will restart.

Entry Delay, Home

This setting controls the amount of time before your system’s siren sounds and the monitoring center is notified when an active sensor is tripped when in Home Mode. The default is 30 seconds, and this can be adjusted between 0 seconds and 4 minutes 15 seconds.

Entry Delay, Away

This setting controls the amount of time before your system’s siren sounds and the monitoring center is notified when an active sensor is tripped in Away Mode. The default for this is 30 seconds and can be adjusted up to 4 minutes 15 seconds.
