How To Update Your Payment Method

You can update your payment method at any time within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App (opens in new tab) or Online Account (opens in new tab).

Please note that we are no longer able to accept and process pre-paid cards. If you’re paying with a pre-paid card, follow the instructions below to update your payment method to an accepted one for professional monitoring service plans.

We accept VISA, Mastercard and American Express.

Adding a New Card via the Mobile App:

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® App (opens in new tab) on your phone or tablet.

  2. Navigate to the three-bar menu on the top left corner of the app.

  3. Select Plan & Billing (opens in new tab) from the navigation menu, and then Payment Methods.

  4. Select Add New Payment from the bottom of the screen.

  5. Use the secure form to enter your payment information, then choose Submit at the bottom of the screen.

  6. If you have multiple locations on your account, you will be asked which locations you want to pay for using that credit card. Select the locations you want, and then tap Add Selected Subscriptions.

Adding a New Card via the Online Account:

  1. Head over to the SimpliSafe® Online Account (opens in new tab) using the web browser of your choice.

  2. Click on monitoring from the left-hand navigation menu.

  3. Choose Edit under Credit Card. This can be found in the blue banner at the top of the screen.

  4. A pop up will appear asking you to add a new credit card or edit an existing one.

  5. To add a new credit card, select “Add a new credit card” then hit submit.

  6. Fill out the secure form with your credit card information and click on submit once you’re done.

    1. This new card will automatically be set as your default payment method.

  7. If you have multiple properties with professional monitoring, repeat these steps for each location, as necessary.

Changing Your Default Payment Method

If you have multiple cards on file, you can change your default payment method at any time through the SimpliSafe® Mobile App (opens in new tab) or Online Account (opens in new tab).

Using the SimpliSafe® Mobile App

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® App (opens in new tab) on your phone or tablet.

  2. Navigate to the three-bar menu in the upper left corner of the screen.

  3. Select Plan & Billing (opens in new tab) from the menu, and then Payment Methods.

  4. Select the credit card you wish to use, and then tap Add Subscription on the bottom of the screen.

  5. Select the location(s) on your account you want to make this credit card the default payment method for, and then tap Add Selected Subscriptions.

  6. Once complete, the card will automatically update to your default payment method for your location(s).

Using the Online Account

  1. Navigate to the SimpliSafe® Online Account (opens in new tab) using the browser of your choice.

  2. Select the three-bar menu in the upper left corner if on mobile (if you’re using a desktop computer, you can skip to step 3.)

  3. Choose Monitoring from the list of menu options on the left side of the screen.

  4. On the top of the screen there will be a blue banner. Find the Credit Card field and select Edit from underneath it.

  5. Click the circle next to the new card you wish to use.

  6. Select Submit to save your selections.

  7. The card will automatically update to your default payment method.

Deleting a Card From Your Account

If you need to remove or delete a card from your account, please If you have multiple credit cards on your account, you can delete any of them that are not your default payment method in the SimpliSafe® App*.

  1. Update the SimpliSafe® App (opens in new tab) to the latest version and open the SimpliSafe® App (opens in new tab) on your phone or tablet.

  2. Navigate to the three-bar menu on the top left corner of the app.

  3. Select Plan & Billing from the navigation menu, and then Payment Methods.

  4. Tap on the credit card you wish to remove.

  5. Select Delete.

  6. You’ll know the payment method was successfully removed when you see “Payment method deleted” at the bottom of the screen.

*Please note: this feature is only available in the SimpliSafe® App (opens in new tab). You cannot remove a credit card from your account using the SimpliSafe® Online Account (opens in new tab).
