Adding New Devices to Your Original SimpliSafe® System

Please note that we no longer sell devices for the Original SimpliSafe® system. If you are having an issue with your Original SimpliSafe® system, our Support team (opens in new tab) can tell you more about our upgrade offers.

The Original SimpliSafe® System can have up to 39 devices (41 if you include the Keypad and Master Keychain Remote.) To add a product to your system, you can use either the SimpliSafe® Mobile App (opens in new tab) or Keypad using the steps below.

Using an iOS (Apple) Device

1. Choose My System from the bottom navigation bar

2. Select Device Settings

3. Tap the plus icon on the top right corner of the screen and follow the on-screen instructions

Using an Android Device

1. Choose My System from the bottom navigation bar

2. Select Device Settings

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and select + Add Device

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your sensor

Using the Keypad

1. Press Menu on your Keypad and enter your Master PIN.

2. Press the #3 button and the Keypad will display “3) Add Component”, press the Away key to enter.

3. Using the Off and Home keys, cycle to the type of device you are installing and press the Away key to select.

4. Using the number pad, enter the serial number of the sensor you are installing and press Away to submit. The Keypad will display “Component Added” to confirm.
