IMPORTANT: For systems purchased before 2020, you may lose connection to professional monitoring as of 12/31/22 if your Base Station 2G cellular module is not upgraded. Call us or check your SimpliSafe app Overview screen to see if your system is affected.

How do I Activate Monitoring?

Monitoring can be activated via your web browser or SimpliSafe mobile app.

Web Browser

  1. Navigate to SimpliSafe.com/activate.
  2. Log in to your account. Note: if this is the first time you’re logging in to your account, you’ll use the email address with which you placed your original order. If you are unaware of or have forgotten your password, please use the “Forgot password” link.
  3. Follow the directions on the screen to activate your monitoring service. You will need your Base Station serial number (printed on the bottom of your Base Station) and your credit card information.

Mobile App

If you’re using a mobile device, the process will differ slightly depending on whether or not this is the first product you’re setting up with us.

If this is the first product you’ve set up with us:

  1. Log in to your account on the SimpliSafe App. Note: if this is the first time you’re logging in to your account, you’ll use the email address with which you placed your original order. If you are unaware of or have forgotten your password, please use the “Forgot password” link.
  2. Click the “Activate monitoring” button in the center of the screen.
  3. Follow the directions on the screen to activate your monitoring service. You will need your Base Station serial number (printed on the bottom of your Base Station) and your credit card information (unless you’ve already purchased a plan in your initial order).

 If you have previously set up a SimpliCam Indoor Camera or have another property with an active monitoring plan:

  1. Log in to your account on the SimpliSafe App.
  2. Click the  icon in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Click the “Set up a System” menu option.
  4. Click “Let's Go”.
  5. Choose the property for which you’d like to activate a new monitoring plan. If you have a property with only SimpliCam Indoor Camera(s), you can select it here to add a fully monitored system. Otherwise, select “No, this is a new location” to set up monitoring for a new address.
  6. Follow the directions on the screen to activate your monitoring service. You will need your Base Station serial number (printed on the bottom of your Base Station) and your credit card information (unless you’ve already purchased a plan in your initial order).
