How to Reset the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Listener

If your Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Listener encounters an error that cannot be resolved during normal troubleshooting, you may need to reset the device.

To reset the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Listener

  1. Remove the Alarm Listener from its mounting bracket by twisting it clockwise

  2. Remove the battery from the Alarm Listener and wait a few seconds

  3. After a few seconds have passed, place the battery back into the Alarm Listener

  4. Then, place the Alarm Listener back on its mounting bracket by aligning the triangles and twisting it clockwise until it snaps into place

If your Alarm Listener is still exhibiting an error after performing a reset, you will need to remove it from your system and then reinstall it.

To remove the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Listener from your system

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® Mobile App (opens in new tab) on your phone or tablet

  2. Select My System from the navigation bar on the bottom of the screen

  3. Select Device Settings (opens in new tab)

  4. Choose your Alarm Listener

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap X Remove Device
