System Audio Settings & Customizations

Your system has a variety of audio settings that can be customized to your preferences. The following article will walk you through the different products and how to make adjustments for their volume and duration.

Entry Sensor Chime Volume

When your system is disarmed and an Entry Sensor is opened, it will relay a chime to the Base Station to notify you of the potential intrusion. This chime is set to medium by default but can be toggled to OFF, LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH at any time from the SimpliSafe® Mobile App, Keypad or Web App.

SimpliSafe® Mobile App:

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® mobile app on your phone or tablet

  2. Choose My System from the bottom navigation bar

  3. Select Base Station Settings

  4. Tap on Sound & Volume Settings

  5. Use the slider to adjust the volume for your Entry Sensor Chime

  6. Be sure to click on Save in the upper right corner before exiting

Keypad:

  1. Press Menu on your Keypad

  2. Enter your Primary PIN

  3. Choose System Settings

  4. Select Chime Volume and adjust the setting, as needed

Web App:

  1. Log in to the Web App

  2. Select System from the left-hand navigation bar

  3. Under Additional Settings locate Entry Sensor Chime

  4. Use the drop-down menu to adjust the volume for your Entry Sensor Chime

  5. Be sure to click on Save Changes at the bottom of the screen before exiting

Entry Sensor - Voice Prompt*

Entry Sensor Alert enables your Base Station to announce the Entry Sensor by name whenever it is opened. For example, if you open the front door you might hear your Base Station reply with “Front Door Entry Sensor open” instead of the usual chime. 

This feature is setup on a per sensor basis, so you can choose which Entry Sensors produce a Voice Prompt and which sensors produce a chime. Keep in mind that the voice prompt for Entry Sensors is only available for the preset list of sensor names. So if you have set a custom name for your sensor your Base Station may be unable to say the custom name of your Entry Sensor.

This feature can only be enabled through the SimpliSafe® Mobile App.

SimpliSafe® Mobile App:

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® Mobile App on your phone or tablet

  2. Select My System from the bottom navigation bar

  3. Tap on Device Settings

  4. Choose your Entry Sensor that you would like to modify

  5. Under Entry Sensor Alert, select Sensor Name Voice Prompt

  6. Use the toggle to turn this feature on or off

  7. Be sure to tap on Send to Base or Save to save your settings before exiting

  8. Repeat for steps 5-8 for each sensor, as needed

*Please note: Entry Sensor Alert is only available to users subscribed to our Outdoor Monitoring, Self-Monitoring with Camera Recordings, or Fast Protect™ (formerly Interactive Monitoring) monitoring plans. If you do not see this feature available, please check your monitoring plan. Entry Sensor Alert is also only compatible with our Gen 3 SimpliSafe® systems. Video Doorbell Pro Chime Volume

When your Video Doorbell Pro rings, the Base Station relays a chime to notify you of the visitor to your home or business. By default, this is set to Medium but it can be toggled to OFF, LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App only.

SimpliSafe® Mobile App:

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® Mobile App on your phone or tablet

  2. Select the Cameras tab from the bottom navigation bar

  3. Choose the gear icon for Camera Settings in the upper right corner of the app

  4. Tap on your Video Doorbell Pro

  5. Click on Base Station Chime

  6. Use the slider to adjust the volume for your Video Doorbell Pro Chime

  7. Be sure to click on Save in the upper right corner before exiting

Siren Volume

When your Base Station sounds the alarm, the siren will sound to alert those nearby of the potential intrusion. Out-of-the-box this setting is configured to sound at a HIGH volume, but this can be adjusted to LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH at any time from the SimpliSafe® Mobile App, Keypad or Web App.

SimpliSafe® Mobile App:

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® mobile app on your phone or tablet

  2. Choose My System from the bottom navigation bar

  3. Select Base Station Settings

  4. Scroll to Alarm Siren Volume

  5. Use the slider to adjust the volume for your Siren Volume

  6. Be sure to click on Save in the upper right corner before exiting

Keypad:

  1. Press Menu on your Keypad

  2. Enter your Primary PIN

  3. Choose System Settings

  4. Select Siren Volume and adjust the setting, as needed

Web App:

  1. Log in to the Web App

  2. Select System from the left-hand navigation bar

  3. Under Additional Settings locate Siren Volume

  4. Use the drop-down menu to adjust the volume for your Siren Volume

  5. Be sure to click on Save Changes at the bottom of the screen before exiting

Voice Prompts

Your Base Station will announce any instructions or errors with it. For example, when you arm your system in Home mode your Base Station will announce this by saying, "SimpliSafe® On, Home.".

By default the volume for Voice Prompts is set to MEDIUM, but this can be toggled to OFF, LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH through the SimpliSafe® Mobile App, Keypad or Web App.

SimpliSafe® Mobile App:

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® mobile app on your phone or tablet

  2. Choose My System from the bottom navigation bar

  3. Select Base Station Settings

  4. Scroll to Voice Prompts

  5. Use the slider to adjust the volume for your Voice Prompts

  6. Be sure to click on Save in the upper right corner before exiting

Keypad:

  1. Press Menu on your Keypad

  2. Enter your Primary PIN

  3. Choose System Settings

  4. Select Voice Prompts and adjust the setting, as needed

Web App:

  1. Log in to the Web App

  2. Select System from the left-hand navigation bar

  3. Under Additional Settings locate Voice Prompts

  4. Use the drop-down menu to adjust the volume for your Voice Prompts

  5. Be sure to click on Save Changes at the bottom of the screen before exiting

Siren Duration

This setting adjusts the length of time that your Base Station (and Auxillary Siren) will sound in the event of an alarm. The default for this setting is 4 minutes, but it can be set anywhere between 30 seconds and 8 minutes through the SimpliSafe® Mobile App, Keypad or Web App.

SimpliSafe® Mobile App:

  1. Open the SimpliSafe® mobile app on your phone or tablet

  2. Choose My System from the bottom navigation bar

  3. Select Base Station Settings

  4. Scroll to Siren Duration

  5. Use the slider to adjust the volume for your Siren Duration

  6. Be sure to click on Save in the upper right corner before exiting

Keypad:

  1. Press Menu on your Keypad

  2. Enter your Primary PIN

  3. Choose System Settings

  4. Select Siren Duration and adjust the setting, as needed

Web App:

  1. Log in to the Web App

  2. Select System from the left-hand navigation bar

  3. Under Additional Settings locate Siren Duration

  4. Use the drop-down menu to adjust the volume for your Siren Duration

  5. Be sure to click on Save Changes at the bottom of the screen before exiting
