Why are Some Settings Locked for my Camera?
If your Outdoor Security Camera Series 2, Video Doorbell Pro, and/or Video Doorbell Series 2 is enrolled in SimpliSafe® Active Guard Outdoor Protection, some settings will have a “Locked” icon next to them under Camera Settings within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App. This is due to the fact that these settings are needed for agent intervention during person on property activity and alarm events.
The settings that cannot be changed for cameras enrolled in Active Guard are:
Motion Type
Locked to People Only
Motion Sensitivity
Locked to Medium
Mic & Audio
Locked to On (used for agent intervention)
Night Vision: Spotlight (Outdoor Camera Series 2 only)
For Outdoor Camera Series 2, Spotlight cannot be selected as an option. For the Video Doorbell Series 2 and Video Doorbell Pro, all Night Vision options can be selected
Package Detection (Video Doorbell Series 2 only)
When enrolled in Active Guard Outdoor Protection, the Packages setting will automatically be turned on and will not be visible in the SimpliSafe® app within Motion Detection
Status Light (Video Doorbell Pro only)
For the Video Doorbell Pro, this setting must be set to On and cannot be toggled Off. For the Outdoor Camera Series 2 and Video Doorbell Pro Series 2, the Status Light setting can be changed. When Monitoring Agents are viewing the camera, the Status Light will always turn on
