Carbon Monoxide Detector Installation Guide

Updated

Overview

Our Carbon Monoxide Detector sniffs out dangerous leaks that can happen in kitchens, fireplaces, basements, and more. Because it’s an invisible and odorless gas, Carbon Monoxide leaks could otherwise go undetected. We recommend having at least one per floor, in a bedroom or in a central location.

In accordance with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) guidance, SimpliSafe® recommends replacing your Carbon Monoxide Detector within five (5) years of the manufacture date (found on the label on the back of your device).

Before Getting Started

Before installing your Carbon Monoxide Detector, you will need to install your Gen 3 SimpliSafe® Base Station.

What’s in the Box

  • Carbon Monoxide Detector and its mounting plate

  • Screws and drywall anchors

You will also need a Phillips Head screwdriver and a ¼” drill bit to complete the installation.
