Location-Based Arming Reminders in the SimpliSafe® Mobile App

This feature is available to customers who meet the requirements listed below, and are running the latest version of the SimpliSafe® Mobile App. If you do not see this feature, please update the SimpliSafe® Mobile App on your respective app store for iOS or Android.
Overview
Location-Based Arming Reminders will notify you within a certain perimeter of your home or business to arm or disarm your system, depending on whether you are leaving the property or returning to it.

Requirements
You will need to use the SimpliSafe® Mobile App to utilize this feature
You must enable notifications for the SimpliSafe® Mobile App
You must enable location services and have this set to “Always Allow” for the SimpliSafe® Mobile App on your device
You must be subscribed to an eligible residential or business monitoring plan (Pro Plus, Pro, Core)
Enabling Location-Based Arming Reminders
Once enrolled, you can now set up Location-Based Arming Reminders for your system. To enable these:
Open the SimpliSafe® Mobile App on your phone
Choose My System from the bottom navigation bar
Select Arming Automations
Scroll down to Location-Based Reminders and tap on “+ Enable Reminders”
The app will now walk you through enabling some settings
Reminder! You must have notifications enabled and location services must be set to “Always Allow” for this feature to work as intended!
Using Location-Based Arming Reminders
After toggling the feature on, you’ll now receive reminders to arm or disarm your system whether you’re leaving your property or arriving at it.
Whenever you leave the proximity of your property, you’ll receive a push notification on your phone alerting you to arm your system. You can tap the notification to manually arm your system within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App, or you can do a long press on the notification which will reveal a pop up that allows you to arm your system in Home or Away mode.
Whenever you are returning to the proximity of your property, you’ll receive another push notification on your phone alerting you to disarm your system. As mentioned above, you can manually disarm your system within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App by tapping on the push notification, or you can long press the push notification to reveal a pop up allowing you to tap on Disarm to Off mode.
Troubleshooting Location-Based Arming Reminders Issues
You will occasionally receive prompts from your device that ask you to reconfirm location services access for SimpliSafe®. You will need to ensure that you keep it as Always Allow, otherwise this feature will not be able to determine your location.
You will also need to ensure that notifications are enabled for the SimpliSafe® App. This can be done in two places, first within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App under My System > Notification Settings > Push Notifications. The second place is within your phone’s settings for SimpliSafe®.
If you need to manually adjust these settings, you can open up your phone's settings, then navigate to Apps and then SimpliSafe®. You’ll need to “Allow Notifications” and also ensure that “Background App Refresh” is enabled. Then, you’ll need to turn on “Always Allow” for location settings.
Please note that settings may vary from device to device, depending on the make and model of your phone and what operating system it is. Consult with your phone’s manufacturer for additional troubleshooting.
