We’ve got a new way to keep your system updated and your home protected—automatically.
Your system will now automatically check for and apply available Base Station software updates each day. These updates, which will take only about two minutes to apply, ensure that you always have the latest features on your security devices.
How does it work?
These updates will occur between 1pm to 5pm EST, and we’ll notify you via email before any updates are sent out since your system will need to be disarmed and connected to WiFi to apply the auto updates. During the update, you’ll see your Base Station glow amber to confirm that an update is in progress. Your KeyPad may also say “Keypad out of range” temporarily—you don’t have to take any action if you see this during our automatic update. Once that message disappears and the Base Station is no longer lighting up amber, you’re done!
If your system is unable to check for and apply updates in the 1pm to 5pm EST time frame, you can still manually install updates by pressing the gear icon on your KeyPad.
Connect to WiFi
For help connecting your system to WiFi in order to receive these updates, as well as to make your connection to our monitoring center even more reliable, you can find steps here. You can also check out our connection guide and troubleshooting self-help guide for even more tips.
Other Device Updates
Remember, automatic updates are only for your base station software at this time. You will still need to install KeyPad software manually when you see a gear icon on the screen. You can do this on the KeyPad by pressing the gear icon. Keypad software updates are necessary to ensure support for our latest devices, settings, and menu options as well as necessary for continued Smart Lock compatibility.
