This article is about the Original SimpliSafe system. If you purchased a new system in 2018 or later, you likely have the All-New SimpliSafe. If you're not certain which system you have, you can tell the difference here.
The Freeze Sensor triggers an alarm when your home’s temperature goes above or below the temperature range that you set. If the Freeze Sensor detects temperatures outside of the designated range your Base Station will sound the alarm. If you are subscribed to professional monitoring you will also receive a call from the monitoring company as well informing you of the change in temperature.
To install your Freeze Sensor remove the white battery activation strip hanging from the battery compartment. Next, remove the liner from the adhesive strip located on the Freeze Sensor’s bracket, and adhere it to the wall. Press and hold the Freeze Sensor for 30 seconds to ensure it is firmly attached to the wall. If you would prefer a more secure installation of your Freeze Sensor slide the Freeze Sensor up off of it’s bracket, and use the included screws to permanently attach the bracket to a surface. Once you have finished, slide the Freeze Sensor back on to it’s bracket, and it is installed.
We recommend installing your Freeze Sensor near the thermostat, so that it can keep tabs on the temperature in your home, or near plumbing that is prone to freezing.
If you are installing a new Freeze Sensor to an existing system it can be added through your Keypad, or the Easy Setup Wizard. View this page for additional information.
Our support team will be happy to help if you experience any issues during installation. We are open 7 days a week from 9:00 AM - 12:00 AM EST.
