There are two types of push notifications - camera notifications and system notifications. Camera notifications are set up individually per camera and control that camera’s notifications. System notifications cover all other sensors and notifications.
Setting up System Push Notifications (Smartphone Alerts)
To set up push notifications, please follow these instructions:
- Download and install the SimpliSafe App from the app store if you don’t already have it.
- Open the SimpliSafe Smartphone App and tap the ☰ icon at the upper left, and select ‘Settings’.
- Tap ‘Alerts & Notifications’.
- Tap the word ‘edit’ to the right of Push Notifications.
- Next, tap to check the options for Alarm, Activity, and Error you would like enabled. If you’re not certain which ones you’d like, we recommend choosing all three initially.
- Alarm -- Smart Alerts when system alarm is triggered.
- Activity -- Smart Alerts when system is armed or disarmed, as well as for sensors set to Secret Alert.
- Error -- Smart Alerts on Power Outages and Sensor Errors.
- Tap [save alert] to save your changes.
Setting up Camera Push Notifications (Smartphone Alerts)
- Download and install the SimpliSafe App from the app store if you don’t already have it.
- Open the SimpliSafe Smartphone App and tap the ☰ icon at the upper left, and select ‘Settings’.
- Tap ‘Camera Settings’, and select the camera you’d like to receive alerts for.
- Set Motion Notifications to “on” and ensure that Motion Detection is not turned off.
- You will only receive motion alerts when your camera’s privacy shutter is open.
- Tap [save alert] to save your changes.
