Why would SimpliSafe remove functionality from the website?

I have been trying in vain to add a new siren to the older system.  After looking online in my account for what feels like forever, I finally realized SimpliSafe removed the ability to add and remove components if you have the basic monitoring plan.  Why would you do that?  You now want me to pay for upgraded monitoring to gain access to a feature that used to be free?  This is asinine!  I followed the alternative directions to add the siren from my keypad, but guess what?  The old component does not show up in my system.  This used to be so easy to do online, so I am pretty peeved that SimpliSafe is now trying to charge customers for such a basic feature.

I would call, but customer service wait times are always insanely high.  It's like they have a few people fielding thousands of calls.

IIRC the older system siren was not available online anyways. It wasnt a bi directional device meaning the siren couldn't report back to the base. It would just receive a signal saying "Time to make noise". So you're not missing out.
