Researching leaving. Is there a reason to stay?

I love SimpliSafe and have been a customer for a long time, but for the last couple of weeks, I've been researching security companies to move my business to. Since there wasn't originally a reduced price to trade in old equipment for the newer equipment, I'm still using previous generation hardware. Because of that, now that I'm looking around, I'm finding interesting options that are not only Homekit equipped, but also much cheaper for 24/7 professional security. Without Homekit and a competitive price, I just can't justify staying with Simplisafe. I see in this forum that maybe I can talk to someone to get 40 or even 50% off for upgrading hardware, but considering the lack of Homekit support and the monthly price, even the discount wouldn't be enough to be honest.

Can anyone tell me if I'm missing something? Is there a compelling reason to stick with SimpliSafe and upgrade? Thank you all so much.

I'm not gonna talk you into or out of it, but you did say "I love Simplisafe".  I love Honda, so we just bought another one.

I am curious though, what would homekit really offer for a business system?

I have definitely loved SimpliSafe for around 10 years now. This is for my home though, not a business. Sorry, what I meant was who's company would I give my business to. With Homekit, I could turn on the outside lights when a door is opened, or use a motion detector to turn on lights in that room. I definitely won't buy another alarm system without that feature, but even if Simplisafe offered that, would I pay more to them than I would another company? I might actually, but I'm not sure.

Do your research.  Homekit and price are easy to evaluate.  Is the monitoring as reliable as C.O.P.S?  What's the warranty?  Is there a contract?  If so, how long is it for, does it auto-renew, how easy it is to avoid auto-renew, etc (if there is a contract, usually it indicates a poor choice)?  What to they cover other than intrusion and fire?  Water is a big thing to have, temperature is usually useful.  What are the odds that they will up the price after they've got you?  Can you self-install or must you invite a stranger into your home and have them know everything about your security system?

It's your SECURITY.  Homekit/price are nice, but not the most important things.  And if they are, do you really need security?

Ok, homekit for a home sounds much more appealing.  I would also love to see SS integrate a tad more with other smart home devices so that would be tempting.  The thing I'd love to see is the ability for all my smart lights to turn on if the alarm went off.  Why rummage around a dark home looking for a bad guy?  Maybe some day SS will get there.  They should because there is a demand for it.

Currently I love my SS system because it just works.  I don't have false alarms and the system is attractive.  Many of the other systems, like Amazons keypad, are just plain ugly.  I have to weigh appearance in as well since these things are generally visible.
