Keypad batteries die in a week
Have had SS since July, and have gone through tons of AA batteries. I called and was sent a new Keypad, thinking it was defective. The results are the same. Actually a fresh set of batteries didn't last more than five days, and that was after the batteries that it came with also died out in a few days. What is going on?? The motion detector in the living room seems to activate the keypad (the backlight turns on) when you walk by. Are there optimum settings for this thing? I hear they should last anywhere from 6-8 months. I've used Costco brand, Durecell, Enegizer, all the same results.

As sevensiamesecats mentioned, the Panic Button on the Keypad can still trigger an alarm while the system is in Off mode. If your keypad has falsely triggered a panic alarm then please give our Customer Support a call so that we can get it replaced for you!

Same problem. Installed a new system and after 5 days the keypad batteries were dead. After 4 sets of batteries in 29 days they sent a new keypad. 5 days later the new one is dead again. Has anybody figured this out at all? I’m on the phone with dispatch every week now because the alarm goes off when we enter the building.
