Temporarily Pause Your SimpliSafe Plan While You Move
Updated
If you’re moving to a new home, you’ll now have the option to temporarily pause your professionally monitored service plan for up to 90 days while your move takes place.
To get started, open the SimpliSafe Mobile App and tap the three-bar menu. Then, select the ‘I’m Moving’ option from the navigation bar.
On this screen you’ll be presented with two options: I’m taking my system with me and I’m leaving my system behind. Choose the moving scenario that best describes what you’ll be doing with your SimpliSafe system. If you are taking your system with you, you’ll have the option to temporarily pause your plan while you move. If you are leaving your system behind, please call us at 1-800-203-7962 for further assistance.
Once you select, ‘I’m taking my system with me’ you’ll be presented with the option to Call Us or Pause My Plan.
Choosing Pause My Plan allows you to select a date range in which your plan will be paused for. You can pause services for up to 90 days using this scheduler, and you’ll have the option to unpause at any time if you find your moving timeline changes.
You’ll want to make sure that your address on file is updated to your new location. You can update your address from the tile on the home screen of the SimpliSafe App, or by going to the three-bar menu and selecting Location Profile > Address > Edit Address.
Finally, when your pause period ends your billing and features will automatically restart on the pause date that you pre-selected. We’ll also send an email to you 3 days before your pause is set to expire to make sure you’re ready to go.
To unpause early, you’ll want to log back into the SimpliSafe Mobile App and choose the three-bar menu > I’m Moving. Once you select ‘I’m taking my system with me’ you’ll see the option ‘Restart Now’ to reinstate your service plan. You’ll also have the option to restart your monitoring plan from the home screen of the SimpliSafe App by choosing ‘Restart Now’ from the pause tile under your arming status.
